When looking for a helmet, price should not be a major factor. Impact Racing has made this a non-issue with their new side inlet DOT approved helmets for the Side x Side audience.
We here at Dirt Life actually have one of these helmets when we take our RZR XP 1000 out. Along with the affordable price the fact that the air inlet comes in from the side of the helmet, not on top of it, is what sold us on it. Our cage just doesn’t have the clearance needed for a top mount air inlet.
Yes we’ve seen other helmets with side inlets, mostly made for racing that just aren’t practical for the everyday person that can’t spend $600+ on a helmet, especially if they have to buy 4 of them for the whole family to go ride.
Impact Racing really did their homework on this helmet. They are compatible with all popular forced air systems, and internal channeling to direct air where it’s needed most. This design also helps to eliminate mic noise caused by wind if you want to use a communication system in it.
Your helmet comes with a clear poly-carbonate shield to protect you from dust and debris while riding, and you have the option to purchase other face shields that are dark tint and silver chrome.
Impact gives you the ability to order additional options like helmet skirts and comm. systems from PCI Race Radios and Rugged Radios.
We’ve been using this helmet for a couple months now and we installed our Rugged Radios helmet kit ourselves which was a breeze with the design of the helmet.
So many states in the US now require everyone where helmets and with the Impact Racing Side x Side helmet now available there is no reason for you not to have one for each of your family members.
