Beard Seats Builds a 2008 Kawasaki Teryx
We received an email from the folks over at Beard Seats saying they build some Side x Sides and wanted to know if we were interested in seeing them. Well after I saw the first picture I told them to send more so our readers could see them too. This is the build of their Kawasaki Teryx. You will also see their Polaris RZR build.
Interior: Starting up with our specialty, high quality suspension seating from our Beard Seats brand, we replaced the stock Teryx front seats with (2) of our ultra comfortable Super T1 Low Back Seats and Headrest Covers with Red Piping, these seats are a little wider than some of our UTV seats and are a great option for larger riders. To keep you and your passengers secure (2) of our 3x2 Harnesses, these harnesses have shoulder pads which add to the comfort of your riding experience. On the Teryx you need to incorporate the use of harness relocators in order to use aftermarket harnesses. After the seating was taken care of we targeted the rest of the interior with upgrades, 12.75 Performer Steering Wheel, Brushed Steering Hub Adapter, Black and Chrome Pistol Grip Shift Knob. To make sure you can see your friends behind you we added our popular Rear View Mirror with Billet Mount, this kit mounts easily to the stock Teryx cage. To make sure that we could stay on course in the dunes and out in the desert we mounted a Lorance GPS unit in the center console so it was easily accessible for both driver and passenger.
Exterior: To give our Teryx a more aggressive deserts look while increasing the durability of the vehicle we added one of our Baja Style Cage Extension, one of the great features of this cage is that the Rear Bumper integrates into that cage and mounts to the frame. Another great feature of the Baja Style cage is that you can mount one of our Articulating Spare Tire Carriers on the back, this carrier allows you to lock the spare tire in numerous positions so you can still access your bed for cargo storage. We added one of our Bimini Tops to keep driver and passenger out of the hot sun. To keep the road ahead of you well lit we bolted on one our KrossFire LED light bars that provide maximum illumination with a minimum draw on your electrical system. In order to improve the ground clearance and our Teryxs ability to handle the whoops at speed we enlisted our friends at CST and installed one of their high performance long travel kits. To insure that we were getting the maximum performance from the suspension we added a set of Elka shocks. When it came to the wheels and tires we wanted to go with a more aggressive style and lighter weight construction and that is where the guys from HiPer Wheels came in with one of their new beadlocked styles. When it came to the outside we went with a custom paint scheme from the masters at Straight Edje Paint to work their magic.
Performance: The Teryx comes stock with a strong powerplant but you can never have enough power when it comes to banging around the sand dunes. In order to squeeze some extra power out of Teryx we went to Dynatech to get one of their hot new CDI boxes. To help free up the exhaust flow and give our Kawi a more aggressive note we approached the boys at Big Gun Exhaust to get on of their new Teryx exhaust kits installed, we are very happy with the performance of this system and its ease of installation.
