CORR Racing at Primm Round 3 and 4

Sunday Pro Lite

Pro Lite

Chris Brandt started on the pole today in the Pro Lite race. Pro Lite Champion Chad Hord shot to the front to take the lead on lap 1. Casey Currie in his Bully Dog/ Speed Technologies # 2 followed in the second position before Robert Naughton in his Ready Lift/ Maxxis # 54 and Rodrigo Ampudia in his Papas and Beers # 36 passed him to battle it out for the second position coming out of turn 2.

Ampudia prevailed over Naughton securing second place on lap 4. Ampudia took the lead on lap 6 after Hord fell to the back of the pack.

The competition caution came out on lap 8 with Ampudia still in front. Ampudia and Naughton were side by side going into turn 2 when the race went green. Naughton passed Ampudia in turn 3 to take the first position on lap 10. In the end it was Naughton with the win, Ampudia finishing second and Jeff Kincaid rounding out the podium.

Even with the heat the new track design at Primm from last year’s design made it more exciting for the fans. The rear 40 ft. table top jump had a little bit larger jump in front of it this year slowing down the racers before they hit it. Last year’s season closing race in Primm saw the Pro 4’s landing almost 75% of the way down the other side. The other benefit to this year’s design was a lot more speed. Racers were able to take the rolling whoops after turn one at a much higher speed merely kissing the tops as they hit turn 2.

I can’t wait for CORR’s return to Primm for the season’s closing race. With cooler temperatures you better get your tickets as soon as you can. It is bound to sell out.
