Down and Dirty October 2008

I feel like the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, “I’m late for a very important date”. Sorry for the childhood phrase but yes we are a little late getting this issue out, but for good reason.

This issue is a special Side x Side issue where we feature 3 great Side x Sides and a little Side x Side Carnage.

Our features come to us from Planet Side x Side. After talking to Nick the owner asking him if we can make a special post to find the Sickest Side x Sides, we got quite a few submissions.

The Carnage comes in the form of Off-road Magazine’s project RZR. You won’t believe the story.

A sad note for Las Vegans, the CORR race scheduled for the end of October has been cancelled. It seems the economy is affecting everyone.

Then we have to race features, the SCORE Terrible’s Primm 300 and the inaugural Bilek Racing Silver State 300 put on by Best in the Desert.

Covering the Bilek race in Mesquite NV had a unique twist to the finish. After crossing the finish lines racers (and us) had to follow a 25mph speed limit down a dirt road that was 25 miles long to the podium. Let me tell you this road was hell. Even in our prerunner we could barely do 20mph, and we did not just spend the past 6 hours getting our butts kicked by one of the roughest courses in the BITD series. If the Trick Trucks and Class 1500 cars could only average around 50mph you know it was a tough race.

The one race we missed was the South Point SNORE 250. If you would like more details on this race visit SNORE’s website.

Our Project Ranger 4×4 got some new skin in the form of new vinyl. What a difference it makes in the look of the truck. It sure grabs your attention. The folks over at Ad Images hooked us up with the vinyl and would be happy to help you with graphics or numbering for your race vehicle. Give them a call or visit them online at

This is all for this month

See you in the Dirt
