Last month we gave you a preview of the new factory Ford Prerunner named Raptor. Ford is calling this truck, “The first and only Baja 1000 Trophy Truck you’ll be able to buy from a dealer.”
I would hardly call it a Trophy Truck with only 12 inches travel in front, but Ford has to get the buzz going somehow.
It looks like the Raptor will ride on Fox 2.0 Piggy-backs, and instead of the Blue Oval you will see a black mesh grill for the letters FORD in block lettering.
For you power hungry Ford enthusiasts look for the 6.2L Boss V-8 to be installed with at least 380hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
To get that power to the ground the Raptor will feature selectable lockers and 35 tires.
So far the Raptor looks to be a 2010 model showing up late 2009, so keep your eyes open for the first long-travel factory Ford truck. We will report any new updates we come across.
