Ford Raptor Prerunner by Brenthel Industries

When Ford introduced the Raptor, it revolutionized the Off Road Truck Industry. It wasn’t long before companies like Baja Kits by Brenthel Industries made the Raptor even better.

The Ford Raptor is a very capable prerunner right from the factory. Specially made FOX internal bypass shocks and a wider stance make for a fun time in the desert. Building a factory truck that must meet the needs of the masses can still show its limits.

That is where Baja Kits by Brenthel Industries comes in. They took their 4WD Long Travel Race kit and adapted it to the Raptor to make it even more extreme.

From the factory the Raptor uses 2″ FOX internal bypass shocks, Brenthel Industries steps things up by removing the factory coil spring and shock in favor of King 2.5 10″ travel coil-overs and King 2.5 10″ triple bypass shocks. Then to control the last few inches of travel you hit the King hydraulic bumpstops.

Ford did increase the amount of travel in the front from a normal F-150, and claims it gets 11.5″ in the front. Actual numbers are closer to 9.8″ which is still very respectable for a factory built prerunner. With the Raptor kit from Brenthel Industries you get a whopping 15″ of travel and still retain 4WD.

FiberWerx fiberglass fenders

Giving the front suspension a little more room, FiberWerx fiberglass fenders were used, and painted to match the factor white paint.

Out back this Raptor replies on a set of long travel Deaver Springs with a set of King 3.0 bypass shocks for dampening. To mount the longer King Shocks Brenthel Industries made a custom shock mount that fits under the bed, so you get higher travel numbers and you keep the function of the bed.

Lowrance GPS in a custom mount and a Kenwood race radio

Inside the cab there is a Lowrance GPS in a custom mount and a Kenwood race radio for keeping track of the action when at a desert race. Keeping the driver and passengers safe there is a light roll cage for added protection.

Ford Raptor Slide

The owner of this Raptor is definitely happy with the results of the build, you can see the smile on his face in the last picture, and that is something you can not fake when you drive in the desert.
