Outside at SEMA Rize Industries featured their 7-Open race truck. Basically 7-Open is a Compact Trophy Truck, and this Ranger exploits all those freedoms. The owners of this truck is OneShot Racing driven by Wade Ruhman and Dennis Standrod.
We start with the suspension, up front custom J-Arms are used in conjunction with King 3 coil-overs and by-pass shocks to give this little Ranger 24 of travel.
The rear is a 4-link again using King 3 coilovers and 4 by-pass shocks for 30 of travel.
This 7-Open Ranger rides on 37 BFG Baja T/As mounted on 17 KMC Beadlock wheels.
Powering this beast is a Tom Masek built SVT Ford Bush Series 4.5L V-6 putting out 523 hp and 430 ft/lbs of torque. Getting the power to the rear is an Art Carr at California Performance Transmission built Turbo-400. From the Turbo-400 power hits the ground through a Dirt-Tech 40 spline full-floating axle with a Currie nodular 3rd member stuffed with 5.13 gears.
All this power adds up to a top speed of 132mph at 6200rpm. Not bad for a little V-6.
Should the need come up for a little night racing there are 6 Hella 4000 lights to light the way. Wade and Dennis rely on Sparco Racing seats to keep them safe while they fly through the desert.
The well design Ranger body was constructed by Fiberwerks. Keeping the look of a Ranger while still providing enough room for all that travel.
OneShot Racing races the Best in the Desert racing series, so we hope to see this bad boy in the dirt next year at the races.
