The 2011 SNORE KC HiLiTES Midnight Special was a battle from the start. First it was set to be in Jean NV, its home for years, then it was going to be at the Moapa Indian Reservation, and that got denied, so SNORE did what they knew and made it a BAP style multi-day race.
Tech Inspection started on Friday with the first day of racing to take place later that night. With the first heat of racing starting at 9pm, it was going to be a long night. Unlimted Trucks and Buggies weren’t leaving the line until 1:30am.
As if this race did not already have its fair share of road blocks the weather was an issue too. Friday afternoon saw a ton of rain in Primm. The pits were swamps, but at least the track was wet down which should help with the dust and it did.
Saturday’s racing started 2 hours earlier and the dirt was very dry. Not having the rain on Saturday, we saw racers with slower lap times than they did on Friday.
In all it was a great race. Kyle Conlon took the overall win both days, so congrats to him and his team. For all the results visit: SNORE 2011 – KC HiLiTES Midnight Special Results
